  • Testing NEW WordPress Plugins for Popup and Layouts [2020]

Testing NEW WordPress Plugins for Popup and Layouts [2020]

In this video, I will check out a couple of interesting new WordPress plugins and see if we can find something worth putting on our "I want this" list.

    1. Epic Popup Creator - https://wordpress.org/plugins/epic-popup-creator/

Epic Popup Creator is a new WordPress plugin that you can use to create popups.

This plugin promises a user-friendly interface as well as some interesting behavior settings like time-out, or visit and leave actions.

    2. WP Layouts - https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-layouts/

WP Layouts is a promising new tool for importing, exporting, sorting, digging through, and organizing JSON files on your WordPress website?

I think it could be a good way to export pages created with the Block Editor of WordPress and import the design in new pages so you won't have to start over and build up everything from scratch.

  • WordPress Tutorial: Reusable Blocks (for Beginners)

WordPress Tutorial: Reusable Blocks (for Beginners)

A reusable WordPress block can be simple, such as a button that you’d like to reuse again and again.

On the other hand, a reusable block could include a complicated collection of elements for duplicating more advanced web designs.

Technically, you could save an entire page design as a reusable block and transfer it to other pages or websites.

But how do you make these blocks?

To begin the process, create a new post or page in your WordPress dashboard.
For this demonstration, I’ll be making a new blog post.

I’m pretending like I have a video course to offer my readers.
Therefore, I’d like to put a noticeable call-to-action and signup button at the bottom of each blog post.

Keep in mind that you can make reusable blocks for other needs as well.

Step 2: Add the reusable block to a new page 3:53

  • Create a Portfolio Website With Neve and Beaver Builder (WordPress)

Create a Portfolio Website With Neve and Beaver Builder (WordPress)

In this video, I will show you how to use the Neve WordPress theme and the Beaver Builder page builder plugin to create and customize a Portfolio website.

This is the homepage that you will get exactly as it is after importing the demo with all these sections, rows, and modules you can entirely edit with Beaver Builder.

You also get a ready-made page for About us, with modules where you can enter more details about you, social icons, and testimonials.

Some pictures containing your best creations and the way people can contact you.

There is a nice looking portfolio page and this is the page you can use as a template for each product or service.

The blog is the page where you can display your latest articles and finally, this is the contact page with everything you need.

Now you can go ahead and click Import.

Once everything is imported, you can check out the look of your site as it is right now and then you can start adding your own content.

So, let me start with the homepage, which you can edit by clicking on this Beaver Builder button on your top bar.

If you don't see this black bar above which belongs to your dashboard, you have to log in first by accessing your site's address followed by login.

When you click on Beaver Builder it will reload the page and open its editor window on top of your content, so you can visually edit everything.

To close the editor, click Done or Done and Publish if you already made some changes.

If you click on this plus icon, it will open a pop-up window where you can access resources like Modules, which are elements you can simply drag over to create buttons, contact forms, add images or videos, and so on.

The Rows tab is where you can choose the structure and number of columns for new sections and inner sections.

And the templates zone is where you can save and reuse your layouts.

This window can stick to the left or right side of your screen, or you can make it pop-out only when needed.

Now, if you hover over the modules on this page, you can see the editing handles for modules surrounded by a blue border, and the editing handle for your Row as gray.

This is where you can change things like width, colors, and the background which is an image in this case.

To replace the image, go to Background Photo settings and click Edit.

Pick a new image, click Select Photo and then Save, if you don't want to change anything else.

You can adjust the size of this window if needed, move it around or even maximize it to have a clear vision over the available settings.

The advanced tab is where you can add more spacing with margins and padding, change the visibility, add animation, and modify the HTML Element.

To close this window click Save or Cancel but remember that if you click Cancel your changes will be lost.

Let me show you how module settings work, and for that, I will open the Heading Settings.

It looks and works pretty much the same only the content is different.

The first tab is where you can modify the text, link, and its structure.

The separator below the Heading could be Line, Line With Icons, Line With Image or Line With Text, added to the top, bottom, or between the heading and description.

I will get back to the default selection of the separator which is None, and move to the Typography tab where you have everything you need to make your text look stunning.

To open the advanced settings of a module, you have to click on these three dots, and then Advanced.

This is, more or less, the way you can edit every piece of your content on pages created with Beaver Builder.

The header and footer though must be edited through the Customizer of the theme which you can easily access over here.

But before doing that, I would like to explain this menu.
So, these are the tools of Beaver Builder which you can use to Publish your Layout.

Alternatively, you can push CTRL + P on your keyboard.

To duplicate this layout, click here, for Preview click this link and so on.

If you would like to adjust your content for mobile devices, click Responsive Editing and switch between mobile and tablet view over here.

It is the same selector you see for settings that have a separate adjustment for mobile and tablets.

Revisions and History are useful features when you observe something wrong and want to go back to a specific step and start over.

The Global Settings will open this window where you can change the default settings for Page Heading, Columns, Modules as well as for the Responsive Layout.

If you know how to code, you can use the CSS tab and the JavaScript tab to fine-tune your website.

Don't like the brightness of the user interface?
Switch to dark mode over here.

  • WordPress SMTP Plugin for Sending Emails Step by Step by WP Mail

WordPress SMTP Plugin for Sending Emails Step by Step by WP Mail

By default, WordPress uses the PHP Mail function to send out emails from your website.

However, it is much better to use SMTP as it handles sending messages even better and you can be sure that your emails will go out straight to the inbox folder of your recipients.

Hello WordPress enthusiasts and welcome to our channel.

My name is Robert and in this video, I am going to show you how to use the WP Mail SMTP by WPForms plugin.

Let's go ahead and install it, activate it, and then go to its settings.

You can find a link that says WP Mail SMTP on your dashboards menu on the left, and I am gonna click on it to show you how to configure everything, step by step.

As you can see, you have five tabs here and the first one is for General Settings, then you have the Email Test tab, the Email Log tab which helps keep track of every email sent from your WordPress site.

The last tab is where you can stop sending emails, hide announcements, hide email delivery errors which should be used only for staging and development sites, and you can check this if you would like to remove ALL WP Mail SMTP data upon plugin deletion.

But remember, that all settings will be unrecoverable.

So, the first thing you can do here is to change the From Email, which is the address that emails are sent from.

The From Name would be your name instead of your website's name which generates more trust.

If the return path box is unchecked, bounce messages may be lost and some providers may ignore this option.

The mailer service is PHP by default and this is the reason why your message never goes out through contact forms or other tools that uses the email sender functionality.

You can use alternatives like SMTP.com, Pepipost, and even Gmail but in this video, I am going to use the Other SMTP mailer which is provided by your hosting provider or email service.

This is a demo website hosted at Siteground and I will walk you through the entire process and show you where you can find all of these details like SMTP Host, port, username, and password.

You have to log in to your hosting account, go to Websites, site tools, and open the Accounts settings under email.

If you don't have an email yet, you have to create one end remember that the email and password will be the SMTP Username and SMTP Password you have to paste in these fields.

I already have this contact@startablogin2020.com email address and you can see that I have these dots below Action on the right.

Just click on it to open the menu and select Mail Configuration.

The tab in the middle that says Manual Settings is the place where you can get everything you need.

Alternatively, you can simply copy and paste the Email Configuration data over here.

As you can see, this is my username, and I need to use the email account's password which honestly I don't remember so I will go back to generate a new one.

Now I can start with my username and I would like to make sure everything is correct so I will copy absolutely every detail, except the password.

The first field should contain the SMTP host which is the outgoing server so I will copy and paste this address, like so.

Then I have to choose the Encryption type which would be SSL, make sure the automatically generated SMTP port is 465.

Enable Auto TLS and the Authentication feature then use the email as the SMTP Username and finally, type in your password.

The last thing you have to do is to click on Save Settings below and you are done.

Now you can go ahead and test how it works.

So I can put any email in this field and just click Send Email the I will get the confirmation that a test HTML email was sent successfully.

Now if I check that email inbox, there is a message that says congratulations, test email was sent successfully.

    Perfect.

So, from now on whenever an email is sent out from your website it will use this way instead of the default PHP mailer service.

This will generate a trust signal for other email serves and it will let the message go through.

I hope it was helpful and it will solve your problem with your e-commerce website that doesn't send out emails.

Every website that has a contact form should use this mailer service or other SMTP services available to make sure the communication goes right.

Thanks for watching, keep up the good work and see you in the next video.

    Cheers.

  • Live Chat for WordPress [FREE] Plugin Tutorial Step By Step

Live Chat for WordPress [FREE] Plugin Tutorial Step By Step

In this video, I am going to test the official Tawk to live chat for WordPress.

We are not sponsored by them, I just picked up this one because of the number of installations, and because they say it is easy to set-up, secure, and most importantly, forever free.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/tawkto-live-chat/

    Let's see how it works.

When you go to plugins, add new, and search Live Chat you will find a lot of good plugins for this purpose, like WP-Live Chat, Tidio, Hubspot, LiveChat, and so on.

But in this video, I will focus on the one by Tawk.to which will give you this link in your general settings menu once installed.

    Very easy to use.

You have two options, and the first thing you need to do is to go to tawk.to and create your account then you can change the visibility options where you can exclude specific ULRs if you want to turn off the live chat on pages like Privacy Policy, for example.

Let's go ahead and create an account by clicking on this link, which will take me to their website in a new tab.

I can see how my dashboard will look like after sign up in this picture so without further ado, I will click on the Sign Up Free button.

Fast forward, I need to enter my name, email, and choose a strong password then click the green button below.

It will take me to the next page where I need to select my language and I think that if I allow browser notifications from this website, it will be much easier for me to know when somebody asks me questions through the live chat window on my website.

So, I will click allow and then select the language I want.

Once the Language is selected, it will take me to the next step which is to enter the name as well as the URL of my website.

If I try using the link of my localhost website, it will tell me that I need to enter a valid URL that I can change to something like this and then click Next.

You can invite more coworkers in this step by using their email in this field and pick if this person will get administrative rights or it will be just an agent.

Next, you need to install the plugin which is already installed on my website, but if you are not a WordPress website user, you can install the widget by using the HTML code above.

Alternatively, you can send instructions to your developer.

Click done when you feel ready and here we are.

This is the dashboard where I can click on Take Tour to familiarize myself with everything.

But first, let me go back to my website and use the email and password to sign in.

I think I typed in a wrong password so let me fix this and click sign in again.

    Yes.

It works now and what I need to do next is to select the property, which is Test in my case, and choose the widget in this drop-down where is only one available for now but I will show you how to create a new widget immediately, so keep watching.

Now I need to click on Use Selected Widget and then go to my dashboard and take the introduction tour.

It will show me the place where I can see the incoming chats, notifications, personal settings, visitor monitoring, messaging inbox, and also the addons available to tune up my live chat service.

Now, I should go to the Administration Settings and check out the available options for the Chat Widget.

As you can see, I can customize a lot of things here like the name of my widget, color, language, and I can set up a specific timezone.

I can schedule the live chat availability and set up the consent form which is very important for people in the EU because of the GDPR regulations.

Then I can change the behavior of this widget which gets these settings as default.

You can disable specific notifications, visibility as well as feature settings.

The on click behavior can be popout, which will open the chat box in a new window, or Maximize, which is the most popular way to use a Live Chat.

Also, you can set up domain and country-based restrictions below.

Just if you want, you can add a new Widget by clicking this button.

You have access to lots of other things on your dashboard but to keep this video as short as possible, I will not go through all of these options.

The next step would be to check out the live chat widget which should be active on my website right now.

So, let me click on Visit Site and see what is happening.

As you can see in the bottom right corner of my website, there is a live chat icon and a message that says We Are Here which means that everything works just fine.

Now I can go ahead and test my WordPress live chat for the first time to see how it goes.

What do you think about this way to get a live chat functionality for WordPress?

I am not sure how this is compared with other options out there but I like it and I would use it on my website. It is easy to set up, and straightforward, even for beginners.

Let me know what do you think in the comments section below and make sure to subscribe then ring the bell to get notified when new videos are published.

  • Facebook App ID and App Secret Tutorial Step By Step 2020 [WordPress]

Facebook App ID and App Secret Tutorial Step By Step 2020 [WordPress]

Before creating your Facebook App, in order to get a Facebook App ID and App Secret for Yoast, Facebook Login, Analytics, Facebook Comments, Wordpress, Elementor, and other things that require connecting Facebook with your Website, you need to make sure you have two important pages.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

In WordPress, the Privacy Policy page is there by default and you just need to edit it and add your own content.

I will keep this page open in a new tab so I can copy its URL later.

For Terms of Service, create a new page, add a title and then paste the text of your agreement in the text blocks below.

Click publish and you are done.

Now you can move to the next step which is to create your Facebook App.

To do that, go to developers.facebook.com where you can see this drop-down menu labeled My Apps if you are logged in.

Otherwise, you'll need to log in to your Facebook account to get there.

Click on the Create App link near the plus icon and start by choosing the name you want to associate with this APP ID

The contact email below is automatically gathered from your Facebook account but I think you can change that and keep in mind that this email address is used to contact you about potential policy violations, app restrictions or steps to recover the app if it's been deleted or compromised.

Click create APP ID below, complete the Security Check if needed then click Submit.

Now you'll be redirected to the App settings page where you have to go to settings, basic, and paste your Privacy Policy URL in this field as well as your Terms of Service URL here.

Choose a category for your app in this drop-down, let's say education and then click Save Changes.

As you can see, Facebook says that this must be a valid Privacy Policy URL, and my link is not valid because it is a testing environment on my computer which is not live on the internet.

So, I have to make sure I use a live and correct Privacy Policy URL in order to be able to make my app live.

At this point, you should be ready for simple Facebook integrations.

But, you can connect your app to a Facebook Business Manager account, if applicable, and get started on the business verification process.

Then you would have to fill up the data protection officer contact information in these fields.

Now you can copy the APP ID as well as your App Secret which will show up after submitting your Facebook account password for security reasons.

If you think your App Secret is compromised for some reason or you simply want to reset the key, click Reset, enter your password again, and choose how many hours your old App Secret will continue to work.

If you want to reset it immediately, leave zero in this field and click Reset.

Before moving to the next step, make sure your app is turned on and not in development mode.

To do that, click on this switch and it will go live.

Now you can go ahead and set up products like Facebook Login, where you can use a quickstart process for iOS, Android, Web, and other devices like Games on Facebook.com or to manually build a login flow.

For the web, you would have to enter your website's URL in this field, I mean the complete address including HTTPS.

To make sure you won't do any spelling mistakes, I think it would be better to copy and paste the URL from your browser, then click Save.

Then you need to set up the Facebook SDK for Javascript, check login status, and add the Facebook Login button, but there is a much easier way to do this automatically with a WordPress plugin like Social Plugin for WordPress.

You'll have to paste in your Facebook App ID and Secret in these fields, adjust some settings below according to your needs and Save Changes.

To activate the Facebook Login button on your Login and Register pages, make sure you check this box before saving the changes.

Let me Log Out and see if the Facebook login button is there.

Yes, it is there and I can click that button to log in with my Facebook credentials.

If I click Continue as Robert the site will receive my name and email address, if the anyone can register option is active in the general settings on my website.

To make sure that option is active, go to general settings and check this box.

Once the Facebook Login is active, you will see this green checkmark near your product, and you can add more products to this app.

This is it for today, guys.

WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing and Discount Rules for Upselling Technique

If you have a winery, for example, and you are selling your products online, people can go to your website, pick the type of wine they would like to purchase, select the quantity and then click add to cart.

But what if you want to make people order more than one or two bottles?

Well, a pretty good way to make them buy more is to add a quantity-based discount, like 3% for 3 bottles, 5% for five, and so on.

They should see the discounts in a table above the add to cart button.

This is the so called WooCommerce dynamic pricing strategy for upsells.

So, if you wanna know how to implement it on your WordPress website for free, stay with me.

I will break down the entire process in 5 easy steps.

Step 1: Install the dynamic pricing with discount rules plugin.
    Step 2: General settings walk-through.
Step 3: Set up your product lists.
Step 4: Pricing rules and discount settings.
Step 5: Schedule, more rules and restrictions.

Before publishing the pricing rule, I want to let you know that you can disable the pricing rule automatically if the product is on sale.

I guess I've covered every important aspect of this plugin, but if you have questions, feel free to shoot them in the comments below.

I will answer each of you guys.

You can come with suggestions for videos about WooCommerce and WordPress, or anything else that can help you step forward with your online presence.

I would like to create something based on your preferences instead of publishing videos that are just ideas of what you would need.
